It’s late to be talking about the 4th of July, I know, but I had some pics archived that I’ve been meaning to post for a long time. So, sorry for the delay, but here they are nonetheless. Maybe we can just consider this very early planning for 2010 celebrations, right? Hope you enjoy the pics and recipes!

Flag Sugar Cookies
Painstakingly layered, chilled and sliced into miniature flags. (and in typical “Angela-OCD” fashion, with accurate 13 stripes. smiles.
I’m proud to admit that I came up with this idea after many years of making “checkerboard” sugar cookies at my grandma’s house. I took the coloring and layering process and adapted it into flags to celebrate the 4th of July. It is quite an insane process of calculations to figure out how much of each color, chilling between each layer, etc. But it’s oh so worth it. And I always use my favorite Martha Stewart sugar cookie recipe, so not only are they cute, but they also taste delicious.
Here I am at work on the above cookies.

Slicing onions for the burgers using swim goggles to prevent tears. It works, I tell ya!!! Don’t be ashamed of the goggles! Even when your friends make fun of you!

LOL, I just happened to view this page because I thought I viewed your entire blog but missed this July 4th section. As for the LOL, I do the same thing when I cut onions….but I use sunglasses and turn the kithcen light on…. =)
Ha! Awesome. It totally works!!! And the swim goggles even better because they ‘seal’.
